🌐 Cloudflare Radar 2025: The State of the Internet

Cloudflare published its sixth annual report with the main Internet patterns observed during 2025, from its network in 330 cities across 125+ countries, processing over 81 million HTTP requests per second.

📊 Most relevant findings:

🌐 Traffic

  • Global traffic grew 19% in 2025
  • Starlink traffic doubled, reaching 20+ new countries
  • 52% of human web traffic now uses post-quantum encryption

🤖 Artificial Intelligence

  • AI “user-action” crawling increased over 15x
  • AI bots represented 4.2% of HTML traffic (Googlebot: 4.5%)
  • AI crawlers are the most blocked user agents in robots.txt

🔒 Security

  • 6% of global traffic was mitigated as potentially malicious
  • Over 5% of analyzed emails turned out malicious
  • Hyper-volumetric DDoS attacks grew significantly

📡 Connectivity

  • Nearly half of the 174 Internet outages were government-ordered

💡 Quick explanation

Cloudflare acts as an intermediary for a large portion of Internet traffic. This gives them a privileged view of how information flows globally, what’s legitimate, and what’s malicious. Their annual report is like the “state of the internet” backed by real data.
